I started yoga when I was 25.

我是在25歲開始瑜伽練習。

Because of my intensive Badminton Training, I had injuries on my hip joint, ligaments, shoulder joints and elbow joint, I wanted to try some sport that is non-competitive.

由於過去在羽毛球練習中不慎弄傷坐骨結節、靱帶、肩關節和手肘關節,我想找一些沒有對抗性的「運動」。

At that time, yoga just came to Macau, so, I went for a trial, it was a Hatha Yoga Class.

當時瑜伽剛來到澳門不久,我便去了試堂,那是一節哈達瑜伽課。

I enjoyed my very first yoga class, and the teacher, Sam, made me understand that yoga is something more than asana, it is something inward, something related to the mind, in the pose Janu Sirsasana...

第一節的瑜伽課我覺得很不錯,當時的老師 Sam,讓我在 Janu Sirsasana 式子中,領略到瑜伽並不只是體位法,擺出一個瑜伽姿勢,而是一些更內在的、關乎精神上的東西⋯

Then, my second yoga class, I met another teacher, Viru.  He is so professional and with his guidance, encouragement and adjustment, I was able to do Marichyasana C, which made me understand the importance of breathing and relax the mind in yoga...

然後,第二節瑜伽課,我遇到 Viru 老師。他非常專業,在他的引導和調整下,我在 Marichyasana C 這個式子中,理解到呼吸、還有放鬆頭腦在瑜伽練習中的重要⋯

Then, I continue to practice... until now.

就這樣,一直練習到現在⋯

When I was 15, I got Macau Badminton Open Champion, the youngest Macau Open Champion in Macau Badminton history.  But, I did not feel happy.    I did not know why...

我在15歲時拿到了澳門羽毛球公開賽冠軍,是澳門羽毛球壇史上最年輕的公開賽冠軍,但是,我沒有為此感到快樂,我不知道為什麼自己不快樂⋯

I did well in academy too.  

I was the top 3 student when I graduated in secondary school...

And I got the ever highest GPA in my major in University...

But again, I was unhappy.

I did not know why...

我的學業成績也不錯,中學畢業時成績名列優異,是前三名。大學時期是學系歷屆最高 GPA 分數,但不知為何,我依然是不快樂⋯

Some people probably think that I must be crazy...

可能很多人會覺得我是不是有病、或是瘋了⋯

Am I too demanding?

Or was I too harsh to myself?

是我要求太高?

還是我對自己太嚴厲?

Gradually, I found the answer in yoga.

漸漸地,我在瑜伽找到答案。

Yoga made me understand that there is no need to compete with others, we all have different body structures, we are all unique.

Even myself, on the same day, my body in the morning is different from my body in the evening.

It is here and now.

Learn to appreciate the different beauty at different stages. 

Yoga taught me to respect my body, not to overload my body and take care of my body.  Never force myself especially when there is uncomforted or sharp pain.  Non-attachment.

Yoga helps me to build up strength and confidence.

A tool for me to connect body and mind...

瑜伽讓我明白到,由於各人身體骨骼結構不同,根本無需作比較。就算是我自己,在同一天內,上午自己的身體狀況跟晚上自己的身體狀況也不同。每個人都是獨特的。

此時此地此刻。

學習欣賞不同階段的美。

瑜伽教導我尊重自己身體(的極限)、不妄作勞、照顧好自己的身體、不要強迫自己超出負荷、學習不執著⋯

瑜伽也幫助我建立剛強的一面、還有自信。

也是一種連結身心的方法⋯
